What got me into CrossFit? I had a long time friend who did this thing called CrossFit and I saw how strong she was. I looked it up and thought, I can’t do that. My husband and I would watch CrossFit on tv while eating nachos and say “they’re so fit”. In 2015, Fort Miami was just opening and a girlfriend asked if I wanted to do the boot camp class, I said no, I wanted to do the CrossFit class. After talking with the owner, signed up! I’ve been here ever since.
What do I love most about coaching? When I was 15 years old, I started teaching little kids how to swim. I’ve always enjoyed teaching and have had the opportunity to work with different sports - when I fell in love with CrossFit, coaching was the natural next step… to give back to the sport I loved. Coaching kids, teens and adults brings me joy, specially when I see people learn new skills or feel accomplishment from their efforts!
Favorite workout: I enjoy all CrossFit workouts for what they offer and the challenge of each. My years of heavy barbells were super fun but I still enjoy the gymnastic movements too. I am grateful I can still enjoy this sport for my stage of life - that’s what makes it great, it can adapt to YOU and what you need!
