June Member of the Month David Rinfield
We’re so excited to have Dave in our FMCF family. He joined CrossFit in November 2018 and has been putting in so much hard work at the 5:30am class. He’s conquered new movements and has lost 37 lbs. since joining. Dave has been married for 25 years and has two wonderful children (14 and 9). He also has been running a rec program for the last 10 years that includes girls and boys basketball, softball, baseball, rocket football and cheerleading. The program gives kids a place to play sports from ages 4 to 14. We’re so inspired by Dave and are honored for him to be our June Member of the Month!
1. What do you do for a living?
I work at St Joseph charter Twp. and I'm the public works supervisor; we manage 7 parks, and maintain 675 fire hydrants and roughly 70 miles of sewer lines (not the most glorious part of the job but it receives the most calls and issues).
2. Why did you choose FMCF?
I would have to thank Brandon Cornell for that, if it wasn't for him I would of never started going and for that I owe him a lot.
3. What is your favorite CrossFit workout/movement?
I would have to say my favorite movement would be lifting. I'm not that good, but I really look forward to them days.
4. Who inspires you?
I would have to say the whole 5:30am class inspires me, but watching people obtain their first muscle-ups or getting a new PR and seeing the support from all the other members just shows how close we all are.
5. Favorite cheat meal?
A cheat meal to me is really just a dessert and that's because it’s a peanut butter cup Blizzard (I know it's bad but they're so good) .
6. What do you do for fun, other than CrossFit?
We enjoy going north to my brother's cabin in Kalkaska.
7. Anything else I should know?
The Last thing I would have to say is when I first started going I wasn't sure if it was the right thing for me. I always felt I was doing things wrong and a lot of the movements felt awkward, but the coaches were very patient and always willing to help and encourage me when I was doing it correctly.
